   Warm hearts, cold feet!!DSC02458

I still have my little angels lying on a wreath. They’ve had a place in the Christmas tree  but they are still very actual with their new year wishes.

DSC02452

Brought some stuff to the second hand shop(cleaned the attic) and came back with a very funny recipe book.Nice drawings and handwriting always handy to make something nice with.

As you can see I’ve already used the recipe paper, so you can’t see the ugly blue pot the Muscari’s are in.

Back again…..

Somehow I’ve been so busy doing all sorts of things that I just didn’t have the time to do some blogging!!But being back again and checking all you dear blogging people I see I’ve been missing a lot. What a cheerful  Christmas spirit there is in a lot of houses. What jolly things people make and say.yes it’s good to be back!!I’ve done some Christmas decorating my self , so here it is.DSC02043

Made some angels for the Christmas tree. It’s a dilemma every year(that is to say,it’s one for me)because I like a white and grey decorated tree (Jeanne D’arc style) but the kids and husband like lots of jolly red.I honestly like red as well and we ,years ago had a white decorated tree, that only I liked, after some days I kind of missed a bit of color so added some red to it.That instantly looked a lot brighter.I like the Scandinavian style of decorating , you see that in just white and  jolly red and white. So this year a mix of both!!

DSC02045DSC02047DSC02046

Let’s keep it Sweet and Funny !DSC02115

The Jeanne D’arc part of decorating, cones as   Adventcalender, as seen in the magazine of J.D.They contain little Lego Items( to  keep it Scandinavian!)to  make a Christmas village.

DSC02040DSC02026DSC02038

DSC02042

The kitchen part….Found some gingerbread cookie cutters and an old glass porridge form in an secondhand shop.

DSC02116

The kitchen  wall cabinet  in jolly red style! The Santa’s I made a very long time ago .They are cross-stitched  front and back and sewed on fabric. They are our egg-warmers.

DSC02117DSC02118DSC02119

The Hema sold a lot of Scandinavian Christmas items last year.Like these candles and coffee cups  and bowls.

DSC02114

Found some great ribbons and rope  on the Christmas  Fair in Haarzuilens.

DSC02120

A glimpse into the living-room.At the front a jolly red pixie. The original  pixie’s ,made by Maileg are so very nice but not cheap so I made this one my self,It’s an Adventcalender. In every pocket you can put a tiny present.

DSC02121

The Christmas tree !

DSC02122

The angel of Love has a place almost at the top….of course.

DSC02123

And there is also an  angel of Joy.DSC02165

Old Bon Maman creme brulee jars I found second hand.Decorated with ‘follow your dreams’ ribbon.Let that be your goal for the new year!

DSC02163DSC02173DSC02166

Red and white presents under the tree.First pic. presents at  front are from Noords (Santa told me).A very Scandinavian ‘web but also showroom’ shop in my neighborhood.

DSC02168

The living-room.I have a new thing in my living-room.My father made a long shelf above the windows.I placed my collection of pineapples on it and a garland.

Close up.

The wall cabinet  in the kitchen is filled with my collection  of ‘Sinterklaas’ cups ,plates and lots of more stuff. DSC02000 DSC02002DSC01998DSC01995DSC02001DSC01994

Halloween preview.

This  Saturday it’s Halloween. We don’t like the scary and strange things  some people do on these days in America(turning your garden in a graveyard!?)but like to do something, like pumpkin carving , baking Halloween cookies and cakes ,mixing witches potions and playing funny games.Decorating the room is also a part of the festivities.Nothing scary just fun!!Orange isn’t my favorite color but on Halloween it’s quite essential and so is black!DSC01626

In the webshop of Belle brocante I bought these funny Halloween labels. These cones I made some time ago, just changed the label and added a black paper lace(from the Xenos).

DSC01623 DSC01625DSC01624halloween 20

Also funny to make are these simple lights.Put a light in the(Bon Maman)jam jar, decorate with rope and stick some things like (ivy)leaves, crabapple and acorns under it and of course  a nice label as a finishing touch!

DSC01814

DSC01815halloween 5 DSC01628

Last little picture you see the newspaper box I made (last blog) just added some old Halloween pictures to it that I found on the internet ,sticked a little black or white paper lace under it and there’s my scary box!

DSC01826      Little Trick or Treat bag made old  linen  and some old Halloween pictures and tranferpaper.

DSC01827DSC01829DSC01828
